As we begin a new year, I would like to share some daily self-care tips with you. Maybe you are already thinking you do not have time for self-care; however, this does not have to be something that takes a lot of time.  I have found that small steps each day can provide great benefits when it comes to self-care.

Morning workouts are an essential part of my day. My morning workout sets the tone for my day. The workouts may vary but the routine is still the same.

Meditation is something that I have added into my morning routine this year. It gives me a sense of calmness and has taught me to slow down my thoughts and focus on deep breathing.

Practicing daily gratitude. Every morning I spend a few minutes reflecting on five things that I am thankful for that happened within the last 24 hours. These can be anything.  Sometimes it can be the simple things that bring us the most joy. I have found that I am looking for things throughout my day.

Eating for fuel is considered self-care to me.  I want to provide my body with the fuel it needs every day so that I can perform at my best.  This requires me to plan so I often know what I am having for my meals and snacks before the day starts.

Sleeping at least 7 hours a night is a staple for me. There is truth to the idea of going to bed at the same time and getting up at the same time every day. I stick to that as much as possible because I am at my best when I am well rested.

I hope that you can take something from this and begin to add it to your daily routine. Be well!
