Liz Schneider received award of appreciation from YMCA Teen Services

An active part of the Mentors Matter program, this will be Liz’s fifth summer as a mentor, and this is her fourth year as a committee member. As she started interacting with the teens at Mentors Matter, she saw that our teens are being faced with situations calling for a level of maturity far beyond their years. As a mentor, she is honored to have the opportunity to provide a positive outlook and share her life’s experiences.

In addition to mentoring, Liz supports the program through her participation on the Mentors Matter Advisory Committee. She is AMAZINGLY dedicated to using her talents and abilities with regard to organization, communication, and all around high energy to assist with organizing not only the Mentors Matter program itself but also our Office Golf Open fundraiser.

Her time and energy is a gift as she and her husband, Nate, have two young children: Jack who is three and a half, and Caroline who will be two in May.  She also is a member of the Junior League of Dayton and volunteers with her local parish.

The award was presented during the YMCA's 144th Annual Meeting at the David H. Ponitz Center at Sinclair in Dayton on March 12th. The event raised over $20,000 for the YMCA's Annual Campaign and consisted of a silent auction, dinner and a program where volunteers and staff were recognized for their contributions to the success of the YMCA of Greater Dayton.
