Since  the  YMCA  opened  over 10 years ago, it has meant so much more to people than any of us ever imagined it would. When the Y first came to town, people were thinking how wonderful it would be for young people. We were thinking about gym and swim and not about all the other services and opportunities the Y provides in Preble County.

If you drop in early in the morning, people are working out before going to work. Later in the morn ing, seniors take over the Y, and parents drop off their children at Child Care before going to Sinclair. As the afternoon progresses a dif ferent group comes to play bas ketball, pickleball, or work out. By evening, the Y is filled to capacity with swim team, team sports, yoga, zumba, and other activities.

The YMCA has become a com munity center that hosts meetings for various civic organizations and religious groups. It has filled a gap; a place for people to exercise but to also meet new friends, learn leader ship skills, and become healthier in mind and body.

The YMCA Annual Campaign/ Strong Kids campaign is kicking off soon. Please join me in supporting the work the Y does for people, families and our community.
