YMCA of Greater Dayton Teen Services Announces Volunteer of the Year
Norbert Klopsch received award of appreciation

[Dayton, OH 3/23/11] – The YMCA of Greater Dayton held its 140th Annual Meeting at the David H. Ponitz Center at Sinclair in Dayton recently. The event raised over $19,000 for the YMCA’s annual Strong Kids Campaign. The event consisted of a silent auction, dinner and a program where volunteers and staff were recognized for their contributions to the success of the YMCA of Greater Dayton.

YMCA Teen Services was pleased to recognize Norbert Klopsch as their Volunteer of the Year.  Norb has participated as a mentor in the YMCA Teens in Action Mentors Matter program for the past 3 summers.   Norb is such an asset to our program - not only does he commit to the 3 volunteer days that are required of mentors, but he shows up as often as he can.  He brings a positive energy for the teens that is quite rare and is always willing to give 110%. He is so amazing that this past summer the teens made him a part of their “thank you” rap song.  He also spends time behind the scenes helping us raise funds for Junior Leadership Dayton. No matter how busy his schedule, Norb makes the time to help us out! It is because of the commitment of people like Norb, that we are able to continue to grow in our work with area youth.  THANK YOU Norb for sharing your time, talent and heart with our teens and the Mentors Matter program!

Norb is a hero to the YMCA of Greater Dayton.
