2009 YMCA Summer Daycamp Olympics on July 15-16

Dayton, Ohio – July 7, 2009 – Each summer, the YMCA of Greater Dayton’s Summer Day Camp program culminates with an YMCA City-wide Olympic "field day" event!

Over 600 children from every day camp site participates in the day long event, held at the University of Dayton’s outdoor track.

The competition includes events such as bucket brigade and football pass, as well as the standard track and field events of relay race, 100 yard dash, long jump and high jump. Volunteers from the University of Dayton Athletic Department are on hand to assist the YMCA staff in managing the day’s activities. The day culminates with the Spirit Award, presented to the day camp site giving the most spirited presentation to the entire crowd.
