Downtown YMCA Announces 2005 Volunteer of the Year

March 21, 2005- The YMCA of Greater Dayton recently held its 134th Annual Meeting at the Schuster Center in Dayton. The event raised close to $21,000 for the YMCA's annual Strong Kids Campaign. The event consisted of a silent auction, dinner and a program where volunteers and staff were both recognized for their contributions to the success of the YMCA of Greater Dayton.

During the program, the Downtown YMCA recognized Becki Begley as their 2005 Volunteer of the Year. Over the past two years, Becki has become one of the Downtown YMCA's strongest supporters and most active volunteers and her dedication to the YMCA and its programs has been invaluable. Becki has served on a number of committees for the Downtown YMCA, including the Wellness Committee and the Program Committee. Showing the true dedication of a volunteer, Becki has even spent numerous hours helping with the tedious task of organizing membership files and other important paperwork. Becki is always willing to lend a hand with any special project or event and she always provides input that helps the Downtown YMCA stay in touch with its members. Becki is the perfect example of a caring and involved YMCA member and it's our pleasure to recognize her as the Volunteer of the Year for the Downtown YMCA.
