Coffman YMCA Announces 2004 Volunteer of the Year

March 16, 2004 - The YMCA of Greater Dayton recently held its 133rd Annual Meeting at the Schuster Center in Dayton. The event raised close to $17,000 for the YMCA’s annual Strong Kids Campaign. The event consisted of a silent auction with over 300 items, dinner and a program. Volunteers and staff were both recognized for their contributions to the success of the YMCA of Greater Dayton.

During the program, the Coffman YMCA recognized Mark D’Urso as their 2004 Volunteer of the Year. Mark has been associated with the Coffman YMCA since the current facility was just an idea. Mark was one of the leadership team members that helped raise the initial funds to build the Coffman YMCA. Over the past few years Mark has championed several efforts at the Coffman YMCA including raising funds for the Strong Kids Campaign as well as assisting with the development of five acres of new game fields, in which Mark’s efforts saved the YMCA thousands of dollars. Mark is currently serving as the Coffman YMCA Board Chair, a role that he has held since September of 2002.
