Fairborn YMCA Youth Sports Philosophy
What's NEW about SPORTS at the Fairborn YMCA? PARENT / COACH MANUALNow parents and volunteer coaches can be better informed about youth sports programs all year around. Parents will know when and how to register, how much to pay, deadlines, dates, what their child needs for each sport, what skills their child will learn, policies for participation in sports, and so much more. Coaches can find out dates for coaching clinics, practice dates, season dates, rules and policies for each sport, and much more. Click here to download our parent/coach manual. AGE DIVISIONS / SKILL LEVELSPlayers are separated in appropriate age and skill levels. Each division is called Rookies (ages 3-4 years), Winners (ages 5-6 years), and Champions (ages 7-8 years). Each division focuses on developing young players in appropriate skills and rules specific to their ages. As a child "ages" out of one division and into the next, they are challenged to develop at the next higher skill level, playing with more challenging rules. REQUESTING A TEAM BUDDYYou will be able to request a friend or buddy to be placed on a team with your child. However, the mission of the YMCA is not always about playing with friends you already know, it's about new experiences, too. You and your child should have the opportunity to grow in YMCA sports, making new friends and start new relationship with others you do not know. TRAVELING SPORTS PROGRAMS
