YMCA of Greater Dayton offers Youth and Teen Programs focusing on Leadership and Character Developmentteen photos

The YMCA is for Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. We believe teens today have the capacity to lead right now, not just in the future when they reach adulthood.  We also believe that the teen perspective is valuable and should be heard in discussions surrounding needs in our neighborhoods, the status of our schools and education, and the growth of our communities.

In order to develop this potential and give voice to teenage opinions, we have several leadership programs based on the YMCA core values of Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, and Caring and guided by the Search Institute’s 40 Developmental Assets. Most programs are open to Miami Valley teens ages 12 - 18. Junior Leadership Dayton is exclusively for teens in their junior year of high school.

It is our objective that young people leave YMCA teen programs with more confidence, an awareness that they can make a difference in the world, and a desire to fulfill their highest goals. For more information about our teen programs, please click on the links below or contact:
