Soccer For Success
The YMCA of Greater Dayton was awarded a Social Innovation Fund sub-grant through the U.S. Soccer Foundation to implement the Soccer for Success program in the Miami Valley. Soccer for Success is an after-school, sports-based youth development program that uses soccer to combat childhood obesity and provides nutrition education and mentorship to children in at-risk communities.
This is a FREE 12 week after school program that will run in the spring of 2013 from March 4th through May 24th in various sites in Dayton, Trotwood, West Carrollton Fairborn and Xenia, 3 days per week for 90 minutes. Physical activity, mentorship, nutrition education, family engagement, and an enriched, healthy snack are all components of the program. l, jersey, shin guards and socks. Program registration packets are available at the Trotwood Neighborhood Development Center, and at the Downtown, Kleptz, Fairborn and Xenia YMCA branches.
