YMCA of Greater Dayton Announces
Fundraising for $7 Million Project Almost Complete
- $250,000 to go on goal
July 6, 2004- After much anticipation
the Huber Heights YMCA is now under construction!
The YMCA of Greater Dayton has collaborated with Grandview
Hospital, Sulphur Grove United Methodist Church and
the City of Huber Heights to make this 56,000 sq ft
state-of-the-art facility a reality.
The Huber Heights YMCA will be a full-service facility
with an indoor walking/running track, a full-sized
gymnasium, a 6-lane 25 yard indoor swimming pool,
a fully equipped fitness & wellness center, a
teen center and much more!
However, in order to complete the $7 million dollar
project, the YMCA still needs to raise $250,000. Local
businesses and residents are currently being asked
to help meet this need by participating in the Huber
Heights YMCA “Buy-a-Brick” program or
to make additional pledges to the YMCA.
“As you can imagine, a new YMCA facility will
have a dramatic impact on the quality of life in our
community,” said Mark Campbell, Huber Heights
YMCA Campaign Co-Chair and Owner of Wayside Collision
Center. “The Huber Heights YMCA is sure to attract
new families to the community, which ultimately means
more opportunities for local businesses. It’s
a situation we can all benefit from.”
All gifts or pledges must be received no later than
June 30, 2004.
“The YMCA of Greater Dayton is dedicated to
building strong kids, strong families and strong communities,”
said Tim Helm, President and CEO of the YMCA of Greater
Dayton. “The Huber Heights YMCA is no exception.
We are very excited to be a part of this community.”
The Huber Heights YMCA is expected to open in early
2005 and will be located on the corner of Shull Road
and Brandt Pike. For more information about giving
