YMCA Camp Kern Announces 2004 Volunteer of the Year

March 16, 2004- The YMCA of Greater Dayton recently held its 133rd Annual Meeting at the Schuster Center in Dayton. The event raised close to $17,000 for the YMCA’s annual Strong Kids Campaign. The event consisted of a silent auction with over 300 items, dinner and a program. Volunteers and staff were both recognized for their contributions to the success of the YMCA of Greater Dayton.

During the program, the YMCA Camp Kern recognized Jack Blosser as their 2004 Volunteer of the Year. Jack Blosser and his family have been a part of YMCA Camp Kern family for five years, during which time Jack has served on the camp board. Jack is an active volunteer for camp, serving on the Equestrian Committee. Jack also served as the chairman of the 2003 Kids to Camp campaign which raised over $68,000 for financial assistance at Camp Kern. Jack is a constant source of advice and support for the entire Camp Kern staff. Jack also supports the Camp Kern Outdoor Education Program by taking the time to assist in training all Outdoor Education Department staff in the Natural history of the Miami Valley.
