kleptz photo[Miami Valley, OH 4/24/15] – The YMCA of Greater Dayton is pleased to recognize Leroy Chambliss as the Kleptz YMCA volunteer of the year.

Leroy currently serves as the board chair for the Kleptz Y, a campaigner for the Annual Campaign, volunteers for special events and often pitches in to help at the member services counter.  Leroy is the “C” in YMCA. On a daily basis, Leroy is always able to instill Christian Values in our Y community.

He has an incredible rapport with our members and guests. He knows people by name and addresses each person with respect and dignity. Leroy also serves as the Kleptz Y’s chaplain. As such he is approachable, real, and always willing to help with anything we need. He is such a positive influence in the Y and it transfers to everyone he meets.

The award was presented during the YMCA's 144th Annual Meeting at the David H. Ponitz Center at Sinclair in Dayton on March 12th. The event raised over $20,000 for the YMCA's Annual Campaign and consisted of a silent auction, dinner and a program where volunteers and staff were recognized for their contributions to the success of the YMCA of Greater Dayton.
