The YMCA of Greater Dayton has named a new CEO and president, replacing Tim Helm who is leaving to become CEO of the St. Louis YMCA.

Dale Brunner will take over effective Oct. 1.

“The Y makes a tremendous impact in the lives of our neighbors every day, and it is an honor for me to be a part of that. I plan to continue to help make a difference promoting the YMCA mission,” Brunner said. “I’m truly excited and looking forward to the opportunity to enhance our presence and partnerships in the Miami Valley community.”

Brunner began his career with the YMCA of Greater Dayton in 1992, working at both the Fairborn and downtown locations. He took a lead role in fundraising, planning and opening the Coffman YMCA in 2000 and worked as the executive director there for six years. He was offered the position of Vice President of Operations at the YMCA Association Services Office in 2006 and has served the YMCA association in this capacity for the past eight years.
