Volunteer of the Year Award Presented To Trotwood Supporter
Walter Aldridge received award of appreciation from Trotwood YMCA

Walter Aldridge - ndc[Trotwood, OH 4/01/14] – The YMCA of Greater Dayton is pleased to recognize Walter Aldridge as the YMCA Trotwood NDC volunteer of the year.

Walter Aldridge has volunteered for the Y since 1997. He originally started working out at the West YMCA when his gym closed in 1996 and his friends told him about joining the YMCA.

Shortly after becoming a member he started volunteering his time to assist members in the fitness room with equipment and training as well as teaching aerobic classes. He is a helper of many and a stranger to none.  Walter is a key to the success of retaining other members with his instruction and assistance to new members who often feel lost. Walter helps our members feel welcome and safe. Walter has given over 600 hours per year and always gives to our Annual Campaign.

He is one of our champions for the YMCA and we thank him for his commitment!

The award was presented during the YMCA's 143rd Annual Meeting at the David H. Ponitz Center at Sinclair in Dayton on March 13th. The event raised over $22,000 for the YMCA's Annual Campaign and consisted of a silent auction, dinner and a program where volunteers and staff were recognized for their contributions to the success of the YMCA of Greater Dayton.
