roger hendricks-coff[Springboro, OH 4/01/14] – The YMCA of Greater Dayton is pleased to recognize Roger Hendricks as the Coffman YMCA volunteer of the year.

Roger is a Charter Member of both the Coffman Y and the Coffman Y’s Branch Advisory Board. He has served as the Chairman of the Branch Board since September of 2012.

In addition to his work with the Board, Roger volunteers his time in many other ways at the YMCA.  Roger has chaired the Christian Emphasis Committee since it was formed, he serves as a Volunteer Chaplain at the Y, he has coached several of the youth sport teams, is an active volunteer for the Y’s Annual Campaign and has been instrumental in the development of the new Teen Center.

Countless volunteer hours over the years have been given to the Coffman YMCA, both as a volunteer and through his role as the Senior Minister of Southwest Church, the church partner of the Coffman Y. Roger is an extremely generous person who derives true joy out of making a difference in the lives of kids and families.

The award was presented during the YMCA's 143rd Annual Meeting at the David H. Ponitz Center at Sinclair in Dayton on March 13th. The event raised over $22,000 for the YMCA's Annual Campaign and consisted of a silent auction, dinner and a program where volunteers and staff were recognized for their contributions to the success of the YMCA of Greater Dayton.
