Volunteer of the Year Award Presented To Preble County Supporter
Edie Steel received award of appreciation from Preble County YMCA

Edie Steel - preble[Eaton, OH 4/01/14] – The YMCA of Greater Dayton is pleased to recognize Edie Steel as the Preble County YMCA volunteer of the year.

Edie Steel’s involvement at the Preble County YMCA epitomizes our saying “We can do so much more because of YOU”. Her heart for helping others and her advocacy for making the Y available to all is an inspiration.

Edie has served as a volunteer on the Preble Y Board for nine years. Last spring she organized a benefit concert featuring the Van Dells as a way to honor her late mother Carole, and all proceeds from the concert supported the Strong Kids Campaign. The concert was an overwhelming success and sold out weeks before the event.  It was awesome to witness her organizing such a successful event for our Y - she worked hard and we are truly grateful for the amazing work she did to benefit others.

Edie is receiving this award for her hard work, dedication, and generous spirit. She personifies this honor, and we are so lucky to have her at our YMCA.

The award was presented during the YMCA's 143rd Annual Meeting at the David H. Ponitz Center at Sinclair in Dayton on March 13th. The event raised over $22,000 for the YMCA's Annual Campaign and consisted of a silent auction, dinner and a program where volunteers and staff were recognized for their contributions to the success of the YMCA of Greater Dayton.  ###
