YMCA Camp Kern Volunteer of the Year Award Presented To Local Supporter

29 March 2013

For Immediate Release

VOTY - Andrea DeBow Kaercher [Oregonia, OH 3/29/13] - The YMCA of Greater Dayton is pleased to recognize Andrea DeBow Kaercher as the YMCA Camp Kern volunteer of the year.

Andrea Kaercher started at YMCA Camp Kern in 2002 as our Conference and Retreat Director. In 2007 she decided to leave camp to pursue her teaching career at Kings School District, but continued to volunteer for us. She worked on the silent auction committee, soliciting donations in 2012. She was instrumental in The Arctic Dash and also created the Christmas tree ornaments we sold during our holiday fundraiser.

We are so blessed to have her with us as a volunteer and a dear friend. Thank you so much Andrea for all that you do for us and the guests at YMCA Camp Kern!

The award was presented during the YMCA's 142nd Annual Meeting at the David H. Ponitz Center at Sinclair in Dayton on March 14th. The event raised over $17,500 for the YMCA's Annual Strong Kids Campaign and consisted of a silent auction, dinner and a program where volunteers and staff were recognized for their contributions to the success of the YMCA of Greater Dayton.

Thank you again to Andrea. Her dedication to the Y makes our community a better place.
