Trotwood Volunteer of the Year Award Presented To Local Supporter

[Trotwood, OH 3/29/13] – The YMCA of Greater Dayton is pleased to recognize Myra Bozeman as the YMCA Trotwood NDC volunteer of the year.

 

VOTY - Myra BozemanMyra Bozeman, a Professor of Communication and Journalism at Sinclair, became a part of the YMCA Advisory Board in 2011. Myra’s enthusiasm for the Y and its mission were evident in her level of involvement from the start.

 

She became the Strong Kids Chair for the 2012 campaign. She brought fresh ideas to our volunteers to help us achieve our branch goal. At the start of the year, Myra accepted the position as Chair of the NDC Branch Board. Myra has been an active volunteer in many of our membership and youth events, including the Strong Kids Triathlon, Bike-a-thon for Strong Kids, and Zumbathons. She and her family are active in the programming at NDC.

 

Myra regularly participates in Move 2 Lose and TRX classes and her son participates in our Soccer for Success, Winter Wellness programming and in our summer day camp. Myra has a positive attitude that is contagious and she brings true leadership to our board. Her passion and commitment are greatly appreciated and we are proud to call her our Volunteer of the Year!

 

The award was presented during the YMCA's 142nd Annual Meeting at the David H. Ponitz Center at Sinclair in Dayton on March 14th. The event raised over $17,500 for the YMCA's Annual Strong Kids Campaign and consisted of a silent auction, dinner and a program where volunteers and staff were recognized for their contributions to the success of the YMCA of Greater Dayton.
