South YMCA Volunteer of the Year Award Presented To Local Supporter

29 March 2013

For Immediate Release

[Kettering, OH 3/29/13] – The YMCA of Greater Dayton is pleased to recognize Tim Grimes as the South YMCA volunteer of the year.

We would like to first thank his wife Julie and his daughters Abby and Molly for their sacrifice while Tim was working for our cause. Family is where it all starts!

“Who can we ask……..how about Tim?” Over the past 15 years this one line has come to define Tim Grimes and his volunteer time with the South YMCA. For the past two years Tim has served as the board chair of the South Y and during this time he has spent countless hours as a leader, advocate, fundraiser, and recruiter. Often times Tim’s volunteer work goes unnoticed as he is behind the scenes driving himself and other volunteers to ensure that every opportunity we have is weighed and every challenge we face is prepared for. You cannot track the number of hours Tim has logged as a South Y volunteer simply because he never stops being a volunteer!

We know there are many opportunities and challenges ahead of us, but fortunately at the South Y we always know the answer to who can we ask…how about Tim! Thank you Tim and congratulations!

The award was presented during the YMCA's 142nd Annual Meeting at the David H. Ponitz Center at Sinclair in Dayton on March 14th. The event raised over $17,500 for the YMCA's Annual Strong Kids Campaign and consisted of a silent auction, dinner and a program where volunteers and staff were recognized for their contributions to the success of the YMCA of Greater Dayton.

Thank you again to Tim. His dedication to the Y makes our community a better place.
