For Immediate Release

[Fairborn, OH 3/29/13] – The YMCA of Greater Dayton is pleased to recognize Michael and Melissa Gebhardt as the Fairborn YMCA volunteers of the year.

VOTY - the gebhardtsThe Gebhardts have volunteered for multiple youth sports teams throughout the year, even coaching two sports (volleyball & basketball) at the same time! Additionally, they volunteer their time on game days and throughout the practice week to ensure transitions from sport to sport move smoothly.

They have been instrumental in growing and improving the youth volleyball program with an obvious love for the game and a desire to see the kids improve. They have gone out of their way to help make our Youth Sports program an enjoyable experience for our families.  Michael and Melissa Gebhardt have gone above and beyond to exemplify the YMCA spirit as the Fairborn YMCA Co-Volunteers of the Year.  Thank you to the Gebhardt Family!

The award was presented during the YMCA's 142nd Annual Meeting at the David H. Ponitz Center at Sinclair in Dayton on March 14th. The event raised over $17,500 for the YMCA's Annual Strong Kids Campaign and consisted of a silent auction, dinner and a program where volunteers and staff were recognized for their contributions to the success of the YMCA of Greater Dayton.

Thank you again to Michael and Melissa. Their dedication to the Y makes our community a better place.
