Beavercreek Volunteer of the Year Award Presented To Local Supporter

29 March 2013

For Immediate Release

[Beavercreek, OH 3/29/13] – The YMCA of Greater Dayton is pleased to recognize Becky Tetlak as the Lofino YMCA volunteer of the year.

VOTY - becky tetlakBecky joined the YMCA three years ago and has been very active in the Y since moving to Beavercreek from Pennsylvania.

She says that since joining the Y, she has made a ton of new friends and shed a few pounds along the way. She used to be very shy, so she threw herself into classes to meet new people. Becky loved the group cycling and TRX classes so much that she went out on her own and took certification classes in both TRX and Spinning. She then volunteered to substitute teach when other fitness instructors could not make it to class. Becky also volunteered at the Beavercreek Popcorn Festival, coaching YMCA Volleyball and for the Strong Kids Campaign.

Becky has become an outstanding fitness instructor and enjoys sharing her love of exercise by making it fun. She says she’s a really bad joke teller and always promises people a smile. She’s married with two great kids who are very active in sports programs.

The award was presented during the YMCA's 142nd Annual Meeting at the David H. Ponitz Center at Sinclair in Dayton on March 14th. The event raised over $17,500 for the YMCA's Annual Strong Kids Campaign and consisted of a silent auction, dinner and a program where volunteers and staff were recognized for their contributions to the success of the YMCA of Greater Dayton.

Thank you again to Becky Tetlak. Her dedication to the Y makes our community a better place.
