500 Local Kids to Compete in Annual Day Camp Olympics

Dayton, OH, 07.16.13 – Next week, over 500 day campers from every YMCA day camp site will participate in a two day-long annual competition, held at University of Dayton’s outdoor track on July 24th and 25th.

daycamp olympicsThe competitive events (for kids 5-12) include bucket brigade, football pass and the baseball run as well as standard track and field events of relay race, 100 yard dash, long jump and high jump. Volunteers and players from UD’s Athletic Department are on hand to assist the YMCA staff in managing the kid’s races and activities. The day will culminate with the Spirit Award, presented to the day camp site giving the most spirited presentation to the entire crowd.
