Volunteer of the Year Award Presented To Local Y Supporter
Roger Beehler received award of appreciation from Beavercreek YMCA

[Dayton, OH 3/19/12] – The YMCA of Greater Dayton is pleased to recognize Roger “Skip” Beehler as the Beavercreek YMCA volunteer of the year.

Roger has been a Y member since 1992 and has been extremely valuable at the Beavercreek branch.  He eagerly roles up his sleeves to help with various maintenance projects, such as demolition of walls, replacing wood in saunas, re-grouting tile floors, painting, laying carpet, hanging ceiling tiles and pitching in during the pool shutdown.  Roger also serves on our branch facilities committee.

Roger is a 1975 graduate of The Ohio State University and retired from a career with the City of Xenia.  He has been a volunteer with the fire department and EMS for both Greene County Rescue and Miami Township Fire & Rescue.  Roger is currently a councilman for the Village of Clifton and a volunteer with the Beavercreek Wetlands Association.

The award was presented during the YMCA's 141st Annual Meeting at the David H. Ponitz Center at Sinclair in Dayton recently. The event raised over $22,000 for the YMCA's annual Strong Kids Campaign and consisted of a silent auction, dinner and a program where volunteers and staff were recognized for their contributions to the success of the YMCA of Greater Dayton.

Thank you again to Roger Beehler. His dedication to the Y makes our community a better place.
