Robert and Heidi Hartley received award of appreciation from Coffman YMCA

coff_-_hartleys.jpg[Dayton, OH 3/19/12] – The YMCA of Greater Dayton is pleased to recognize Robert and Heidi Hartley as the Coffman YMCA volunteers of the year.

They first joined the YMCA in 2006 and in 2011 contributed more time to coaching youth sports in one season of basketball than most coaches do in a single year.  Together they coached three different age group teams for winter indoor soccer, spring outdoor soccer, fall indoor soccer, basketball, and one flag football team.  All told, the Hartleys’ coached 13 different youth sports teams at the Coffman Y in 2011.  You can pretty much guarantee a sighting of the Hartleys’ at the Y on Saturdays.  Each sports season the Harleys’ will receive multiple requests from previous kids they have coached to be on their team once again.  They truly care about making a positive impact for every kid they coach. They even contact previous team members and let them know about the upcoming sports seasons.  The Hartleys’ easily volunteered over 300 hours of their time in 2011 making a huge impact on the youth at the Coffman YMCA.

The award was presented during the YMCA's 141st Annual Meeting at the David H. Ponitz Center at Sinclair in Dayton recently. The event raised over $22,000 for the YMCA's annual Strong Kids Campaign and consisted of a silent auction, dinner and a program where volunteers and staff were recognized for their contributions to the success of the YMCA of Greater Dayton.

Thank you again to Robert and Heidi Hartley. Their dedication to the Y makes our community a better place.
