Volunteer of the Year Award Presented To Local Y Supporter
Imogene Dutze received award of appreciation from Preble County YMCA

[Dayton, OH 3/19/12] – The YMCA of Greater Dayton is pleased to recognize Imogene Dutze as the Preble County YMCA volunteer of the year.

Imogene is a fixture at the Preble County YMCA. Her advocacy and involvement in Silver Sneakers over the years is a major part of what makes this important program so enjoyable for everyone who participates. Not only does she recruit her peers around the Y to come to class and play games, she also makes phone calls to check on Silver Sneakers members when they haven’t come for awhile.  Imogene is always willing to help people feel encouraged and welcome in class, serving as a Silver Sneakers ambassador for new members.  When needed, her willingness to step in and help teach classes, as well as pitching in to give tours to prospective members is a big help to the staff.

Imogene Dutze is receiving this award for her dedication, thoughtfulness, enthusiastic personality, and willingness to help out whenever she can.  She brings out the best in us all, and we are so lucky to have her at our YMCA.

The award was presented during the YMCA's 141st Annual Meeting at the David H. Ponitz Center at Sinclair in Dayton recently. The event raised over $22,000 for the YMCA's annual Strong Kids Campaign and consisted of a silent auction, dinner and a program where volunteers and staff were recognized for their contributions to the success of the YMCA of Greater Dayton.

Thank you again to Imogene Dutze. Her dedication to the Y makes our community a better place.
