The Dayton Business Journal has named the winners in its second annual Healthiest Employers competition.

Healthiest Employers is an innovative awards program created to recognize those employers that proactively shape the health of their employees. The companies taking part have made a commitment to impact the health of their workplace -- and their bottom line.

"Workplace wellness programs have been proven to boost employee morale, improve health and reduce sick time, which ultimately pays off on the profit line," said Carol Clark, publisher of the Dayton Business Journal. "We're pleased to be able to honor these top companies from the Dayton region that have demonstrated a commitment to their employees' health and wellness."

The DBJ partnered with the privately held technology and data research firm Healthiest Employers to assess the corporate wellness programs of nominated companies.

Healthiest Employers established its proprietary scoring and benchmarking with the help of Ph.Ds, physicians, c-level executives and wellness and human resource professionals from across the U.S.

All of that information is kept private, but participating employers are given a score after completing an online assessment tool that measures wellness programming in the areas of culture and leadership commitment, foundational components, strategic planning, communication and marketing, programming and interventions, reporting and analysis.

Those with the highest ratings were our winners and finalists.
