TROTWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) - A Tipp City based church plans to invest $250,000 from church development grants over the next three years in an effort to launch a new church in Trotwood.

Ginghamsburg's Tipp City and Fort McKinley campuses hope to grow Trotwood's faith-based community while working with its existing resources.

"We want to transform and empower this community to be all that God has called it to be," said Dave Hood, Pastor of Ginghamsburg's Fort McKinley campus.

Hood will be the pastor of the new church, The Point, which will be located in Crosspoint Shopping Center at 506 East Main Street.

Approximately 60 volunteers spent the day fixing up the building.

The Point will host its first worship service on Saturday, April 7.  Activities leading up to opening service include Family Movie Night on Saturday, March 17, and a free concert on Saturday, March 24.

Anyone is welcome to attend.
