Norma Timmerman received award of appreciationnorma_t.jpg

[Dayton, OH 04/01/11] – Norma Timmerman was awarded the Kleptz YMCA Volunteer of the Year. Norma joined the Kleptz Y in 2008 expecting to lose weight. Not only did she lose weight, but she gained an extended family. She has become a fantastic participant and volunteer, always there to cheer other members on and bring new members into the Y family. Norma also volunteers her time with the Strong Kids Campaign and does a wonderful job.  She has become a role model, not just for our seniors, but for everyone who meets her. Norma embraces the Y and all it has to offer, and we can’t thank her enough for her inspiring presence and efforts in behalf of the Y.

The award was presented during the YMCA's 140th Annual Meeting at the David H. Ponitz Center at Sinclair in Dayton recently. The event raised over $19,000 for the YMCA's annual Strong Kids Campaign.

The event consisted of a silent auction, dinner and a program where volunteers and staff were recognized for their contributions to the success of the YMCA of Greater Dayton.

Norma Timmerman is a hero to the Kleptz YMCA.
