February 10, 2010 - It's easy to lose sight of priorities. Sometimes the first thing to drop off the list when you're trying to make room for career, family and everything else you need ddnlarsenalexis.jpgto take care of is yourself. There's never enough time in the day, but last year I decided it was time to move some things around and put fitness back on my list of things to do. I signed up with some fear and trepidation for a Move 2 Lose program at the Downtown YMCA near my house. It quickly became clear to me after several sessions that it would be one of the best things I did during the 2009 calendar year(it was). The program allows participants to workout two times per week for 12 weeks in an intimate group setting with a certified personal trainer. Beyond the great education I received involving nutrition and exercise, I reconnected with myself and realized my health needs need to be at the top of my list. Local YMCA branches around the Miami Valley are gearing up for new Move 2 Lose class sessions starting next week. I'm on my third round and can't wait. I may not have dropped much weight due to my healthy appetite, but I've become stronger, faster, more balanced and happier - which is enough to keep me coming back for more. If you'd like information on the Move 2 Lose program, visit our Move2Lose Page or contact your local YMCA branch.
