West Carrollton YMCA Announces 2005 Volunteer of the Year

March 21, 2005- The YMCA of Greater Dayton recently held its 134 th Annual Meeting at the Schuster Center in Dayton. The event raised close to $21,000 for the YMCA’s annual Strong Kids Campaign. The event consisted of a silent auction, dinner and a program where volunteers and staff were both recognized for their contributions to the success of the YMCA of Greater Dayton.

During the program, the West Carrollton YMCA recognized Ed Holdren as their 2005 Volunteer of the Year. Ed has been integral to the success of the West Carrollton YMCA since the facility was just an idea. He chaired the Capital Campaign, which successfully raised the necessary funds for the opening of the YMCA. Ed is also currently serving as the first Board Chair for the West Carrollton YMCA. A resident of West Carrollton for more than 30 years, Ed understands the needs of the community and has been vital to the development of programs and activities that best serve West Carrollton’s kids and families. Thank you, Ed, for being such a dedicated volunteer and member of the YMCA.
