The YMCA of Greater Dayton Honors Community Volunteers

March 16, 2004 - The YMCA of Greater Dayton recently held its 133rd Annual Meeting at the Schuster Center in Dayton. The event raised close to $17,000 for the YMCA’s annual Strong Kids Campaign. The event consisted of a silent auction with over 300 items, dinner and a program. Volunteers and staff were both recognized for their contributions to the success of the YMCA of Greater Dayton.

Steve Herbert, a managing partner for Coolidge, Wall, Womsley & Lombard Law Firm, received the E.L. Kohnle Humanitarian Award, the highest level volunteer award the YMCA of Greater Dayton gives out. A member of the board of directors for over 10 years, Herbert served as Board Chair from 2001-2003, and currently serves on the executive committee, finance committee and building & properties committee. He has also served and chaired numerous ad-hoc committees, including the committee for the development of the Huber Heights YMCA, which is currently under construction.

This year's President's Award went to David Bart, Attorney at Law, for his more than 15 years of service as a board member as well as his legal support on the Huber Heights YMCA project.
