Coffman YMCA Announces 2005 Volunteer of the Year

March 21, 2005- The YMCA of Greater Dayton recently held its 134 th Annual Meeting at the Schuster Center in Dayton. The event raised close to $21,000 for the YMCA’s annual Strong Kids Campaign. The event consisted of a silent auction, dinner and a program where volunteers and staff were both recognized for their contributions to the success of the YMCA of Greater Dayton.

During the program, the Coffman YMCA recognized Dan Castleforte as their 2005 Volunteer of the Year. Dan is a classic example of a YMCA volunteer. The Castleforte family joined the Coffman YMCA at its opening in 2000 and immediately became donors and friends to the YMCA. Dan became a Board member in 2002 and has served as the chairman of the Financial Development Committee since that time. As a Board member, Dan has proven that his word is gold. If Dan Castleforte says he is going to do something, consider it done! Dan spends countless hours fund-raising and being an advocate for the Coffman YMCA. Under Dan’s leadership, the Coffman YMCA Strong Kids Campaign has grown over 150% in three years. The Coffman YMCA is grateful for Dan’s example and his ability to embody the values of the YMCA in his everyday life.
