West YMCA Announces 2004 Volunteer of the Year

March 16, 2004- The YMCA of Greater Dayton recently held its 133rd Annual Meeting at the Schuster Center in Dayton. The event raised close to $17,000 for the YMCA’s annual Strong Kids Campaign. The event consisted of a silent auction with over 300 items, dinner and a program. Volunteers and staff were both recognized for their contributions to the success of the YMCA of Greater Dayton.

During the program, the West YMCA recognized Myron Coleman as their 2004 Volunteer of the Year. Myron Coleman has been a committed volunteer for more than two decades at the West YMCA. He has been a champion of the swim program by volunteering twice a week to teach children, teens and adults how to swim. Myron has also recruited other significant volunteers to insure the availability of swim lessons for kids and families served by the West YMCA. He has enriched many lives by offering this service to individuals in the West community and has been instrumental in helping the YMCA build strong kids, strong families and strong communities.
